As of April 2022, these are our COVID-19 safety protocols and guidelines:
Masks are recommended on TriMet: As of April 19, 2022, masks are optional on TriMet. However, the Multnomah County Health Department, the Oregon Health Authority and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommend wearing a mask in indoor settings, including public transit.
We know our riders have mixed feelings about wearing masks. Some people may continue to wear a mask for added safety, while others may choose not to. We ask everyone to be respectful of others’ masking choices.
Lots of fresh air: Buses and trains have good ventilation, and we’re maximizing airflow on board.
Free masks and sanitizer: We provide free face masks on all our vehicles and hand sanitizer on all buses and most trains.
