Yes, you can convert a plastic Hop card into a virtual Hop card on your iPhone or Apple Watch*. In the Hop app, select the card you want to convert, then tap “Add to Apple Wallet.”
Your card number will change, but your balance and any progress toward earning a Day Pass or Month Pass will be transferred to your iPhone or Watch, and the plastic card will be deactivated.
Android users: It is not currently possible to convert a plastic Hop card into a virtual card, but after creating a virtual Hop card you can contact Hop Customer Service at 1-844-MYHOPCARD (694-6722) to transfer the balance from an existing plastic card registered to the same Hop account.
* Note that Honored Citizen Photo ID Hop cards for people who qualify based on income, disability or military status, LIFT cards, 1-Year passes and employer-issued Hop cards cannot be converted into virtual cards at this time.
