Bring it on! (Well, maybe with a few exceptions…) We want everyone’s ride to be as safe and comfortable as possible. Here’s what you can and can’t bring on board buses and trains:
Wagons
Sorry... no wagons, please. We have to keep the aisle and doorway clear so people can get on and off.
Wheeled carts and totes
We allow two- or four-wheeled shopping carts, but they can’t be more than 18 inches wide or more than 30 inches tall (excluding wheels and handles).
Strollers
We strongly recommend using a folding “umbrella” style stroller. As you can imagine, large and double-wide strollers just aren’t practical on buses and trains. Please make sure your stroller doesn’t block the aisle or doorway. Learn more about bringing a stroller on TriMet
Backpacks, bags and luggage
You can bring luggage and backpacks on board, but make sure they don't block the aisle or doorway.
Large items and objects, including bags of cans and bottles that block doors and aisles, leak or smell cannot be brought on board.
Mobility devices
The ramps on buses can hold a wheelchair or scooter up to 30 inches wide and 48 inches long, weighing up to 600 pounds when occupied.
Segways
You can bring a Segway on board only when used as a mobility device due to a disability. However, it must be turned off when boarding, riding and exiting the vehicle.
Bikes
Only single-seat bikes, folding bikes, and recumbents the size of a standard bike are allowed on board. Folding bikes are allowed inside buses. Learn more about bringing a bike on TriMet
Food and drinks
Eating is not allowed on TriMet, but you can bring food and drinks on board in closed containers.
Pets
Unless it’s a service animal, your pet must be kept in a secure, enclosed carrier.
