Fare inspectors carry handheld devices that can scan your Hop card, credit card or phone to make sure you have a valid fare. If you paid with a virtual Hop card, the fare inspector will ask you to open either the Hop app or GPay and show the QR code on your virtual card. Here’s how:
In the GPay app:
- Open the GPay app
- Select your virtual Hop card
- Scroll to the bottom of the card details page
- Tap “Show code”
In the Hop app:
- Open the Hop Fastpass app
- Select your virtual Hop card
- Select “Show Proof of Fare”
