We all share the ride, so we’re all responsible for making it a good one. TriMet requires riders to follow these simple rules:
- Valid and correct fare is required
- Move for seniors and people with disabilities
- Don’t threaten or intimidate riders or operators
- Don’t be so loud that you disturb others
- Don’t block the aisles or doors
- If you bring a pet, keep it in a closed carrier
- Keep food and drinks in closed containers
- No smoking
Riders who violate these rules could be fined up to $250, excluded from the system or arrested. See: TriMet Code and Administrative Rules
Masks are optional on TriMet. However, the Multnomah County Health Department, the Oregon Health Authority and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommend wearing a mask in indoor settings, including public transit.
