In April 2026, we released a major update to the Hop Fastpass app for iOS and Android. Here’s what you need to know:
- The app has been completely rebuilt for better performance and reliability.
- NEW: Android users can now convert a physical Hop card into a virtual Hop card. And, you can have multiple virtual cards on the same phone.
- The new app will be pushed to existing Hop app users automatically as a routine update. If you don’t have automatic updates turned on, you may need to update the app manually. You will be asked to log in again the first time you open the updated app.
- Your Hop account, cards and balance will remain the same. The app will look different, but the features haven’t changed.
- The old Hop app will continue working through the end of May 2026.
We’ll be rolling out more new features in the Hop app in 2026 and 2027: Soon, you’ll be able to initiate a balance transfer between cards in the app. And, in the future, you’ll be able to convert your employer-issued Hop card or Photo ID Honored Citizen Hop card into a virtual card so you can pay with your phone.
